Who is Shopatron?
Melissa & Doug, LLC has partnered with Shopatron, Inc to operate the MelissaAndDoug.com web site. This includes collecting and processing the credit card payment and coordinating the fulfillment of your order by our retailers participating in the Shopatron network. Occasionally, to best service your order, Melissa & Doug will fulfill your order directly (e.g., no retailer with the ordered item, in stock, in your geographical area).
Melissa & Doug, LLC, and Shopatron are committed to providing you an exceptional online shopping experience. Due to privacy concerns, and to limit access to your credit card data, Melissa & Doug’s Customer Service do not have access to some information needed to complete certain requests for service (e.g., refunds) and shares the customer service role with Shopatron. These instructions describe how to reach the correct party to assist you in any issue with your order.
Place Orders and Pay Online
This website is designed to make it easy for you to locate and purchase Melissa & Doug products directly from retailers, nationwide (in the continental USA). When you order and pay online, our intelligent system starts working to ensure rapid delivery. We currently accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover only.
Tax may be applied to your order if it ships from a company doing business in the same state as your shipping address. We don’t know the exact amount of tax until your order ships, due to the unique nature of the Shopatron service. For this reason, the order total in your confirmation email may not reflect the exact amount of this tax. Sales tax may also be applied to shipping and handling charges.
Non-Profit Note: At this time we are not able to provide tax exemption on orders placed by non-profit organizations.
Telephone, Postal Mail, Fax, or Email Orders
Melissa & Doug and Shopatron cannot accept retail orders by Telephone, Postal Mail, Fax, or Email at this time.
If you cannot use our convenient online shopping catalog, it is probably due to an outdated browser. Please note: for viewing content and placing orders on our web site, we recommend using the most recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera, FireFox, or Safari.
Sending credit card numbers by email is not secure, and we do not recommend ever doing this.
We cannot accept COD orders at this time.
Credit Card Orders
You may use American Express, Discover, Visa, and MasterCard as payment on orders. When using your credit card, please provide your credit card billing address, if different from the shipping address, and daytime/evening phone numbers. If the billing address you give does not match that which is on file at the financial institution or if authorization is not given for any reason, we reserve the right to cancel the order without notification.
Corporate and institutional purchase orders (military, government, schools and universities) for orders exceeding $1,000.00 (US) can be submitted by calling Melissa & Doug at (800) 718-5365. Purchase Orders for less than this quantity are not currently accepted.
The nature of the website service limits the likelihood that your desired products will be backordered. If the intelligent system cannot locate an acceptable "in stock" agent to ship your order, you will be notified by email. In most cases, you will be notified if your order is not shipped within one week.
Order Questions or Changes
If you have placed an order via the Shopatron shopping service recently and need some information about it or would like to change it in some way, there are a number of ways you may contact us. Please note that since we begin processing your order immediately after receiving it, modifications may not always be possible.

Credits and Balances Due
Any credits on your account with us will be refunded promptly. We will use the same method to refund the amount as you used when you placed the order. For example, if the order was paid by credit card, we will credit your credit card account.

Free Shipping promo codes apply to ground shipping only. Offer excludes AK, HI, and other non-contiguous US locations. Only 1 promo code may be used per purchase at checkout.
MelissaAndDoug.com Ships to
The 50 U.S. States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. We strive to get your purchase to you as quickly as possible. Most orders arrive within 3-7 business days of successful payment processing. The cost for shipping is determined by an algorithm that takes into account total weight and size of your package, as well as the destination zip code. Please see your shopping cart for the shipping charges pertaining to your order.
Canadian and International Orders
Currently we only ship website orders to the 50 U.S. States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
Shipping Service Options
We offer 2 levels of shipping service: Standard or Express. With Standard Shipping, most orders are delivered within 3–7 business days. (Add 2 days for personalized orders with standard shipping.) With Express Delivery (available for all products including personalized items), you will be given the option of 2 different delivery dates. Your order will be delivered by the date you choose. All deliveries, regardless of shipping method, require a physical address; be sure to provide your street address (not a P.O. box).
Shipping Confirmation Emails and Tracking Your Order
We will send you a shipping confirmation email when your order ships. This email contains your package tracking number and the parcel carrier handling your shipment. You can also check the status of your order anytime by clicking the My Account link at the top of MelissaAndDoug.com. Click that link and sign in using your email address and password. Then click on My Orders to view Open Orders, Shipped Orders, or All Orders. You can also use the Track My Order link at the bottom of our website. Additional questions about your order can be answered by calling (800) 718-5365 Toll-free from the U.S. Or Canada.
Shipping in Multiple Packages
If your order includes several items, they may ship separately and at different times. In order to deliver your purchases to you as quickly and efficiently as possible, items that ship from the same location are grouped together. This could result in part of your order arriving at a different time, but still within the expected delivery window.
Delivering Your Package
We process and ship packages Monday through Friday. At this time, we do not ship on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays.
- Your order may be delayed if your shipping address is different from your billing address (we use this additional time to help ensure the security of your credit information).
- Most items ship within 1-2 business days of successful payment processing.
MelissaAndDoug.com Return Policy
We will gladly refund your purchase price, excluding shipping and handling charges if your order is returned to the merchant shipper. (Please see conditions below.)
Merchandise will be accepted for return within 30 days of receipt. The merchandise must be in new and unused condition and in its original packaging.
When you receive your order, the contact information of the merchant shipper will be displayed in the paperwork. Merchant shipper is the term used to refer to the company that actually shipped your order. Please keep your paperwork in case you need to arrange for returns or exchanges, and read the instructions thoroughly for faster processing of returns. Also, please keep any emails you receive regarding your order, as they may contain important information.
Personalized items may not be returned.
If the item you wish to return is inoperable, but has no apparent damage, it is considered defective. Defective merchandise should be returned directly to Melissa & Doug, LLC. Please call Melissa & Doug Customer Service at (800) 718-5365 to arrange for the repair or replacement.
Damaged merchandise includes items that have been damaged in shipping. If a shipment arrives at your door with apparent shipping damage, please refuse the delivery. If you have already accepted delivery and then find shipping damage, please call the merchant shipper immediately. The contact information for the merchant shipper will be in the box. Save all packaging material and paperwork; do not throw anything away!
Limits of Responsibility
We accept no responsibility for user initiated damage and/or loss of parts incurred during operation or use of product.
Price and/or Description Changes
All prices, pictures and descriptions on this site are subject to change. We maintain no responsibility for inadvertent errors. Please contact us within 30 days regarding price or promotion discrepancies.
When you place your order with us, you agree to the price and terms indicated on our website. Price differences related to future or past prices in our store or any other store's prices are not refundable.
We reserve the right to refuse any sale at any time.
