  • Ask the child to name the animal on each stamp. Talk about what charcteristics make aech animal differnt; for instance, the lion has a mane, the elephant a trunk, the giraffe a long neck, etc.

  • Count the stamps, the pencils, and all the pieces together.

  • Ask the child to stamp pictures based on clues you give. For instance, you might say, "Can you stamp a picture of an animal with stripes?" Or, "Let's stamp a picture of an animal that climbs trees!"

  • Stamp the beginning of a repeating pattern and ask the child to continue the pattern.

  • Ask the child to stamp two of each picture on a piece of paepr, then help the child cut up the paper to make a memory game. Turn the pieces face down and take turns flipping two at a time in search of a match.

  • Make a picture book by folding together several pieces of paper. Create a simple story and ask the child to stamp the pages to illustrate it. Encourage the child to name the charcters in the story.
