Ask the child to identify the name and color of each shape.
Ask the child to dump out all of the shapes. Challenge him or her to sort them back into the truck as quickly as possible. Repeat the activity and work on improving speed over multiple tries.
Challenge the child to stack as many shapes as possible without letting them topple over.
Place the shapes around the play space and ask the child to "drive" around the room, picking them up and putting them into the dump truck along the way.
Ask the child to tell a story about the drivers and the truck. Ask questions to encourage his or her imagination; for example: "If the truck is driving to a construction site, what would the workers build with the shapes?"
