Having dolls for your children to play with can provide a variety of opportunities for them to develop life skills together and connect with their sibling at the same time. A sibling is with us for a lifetime and when you start role playing healthy relationships at a young age, it can make such a difference.

Doll Activities with Siblings

Consider providing two dolls for your special siblings to play with together. Think about all the options that become available for play when each child is able to connect an imagination with their own doll. Melissa & Doug have a Mine to Love Line of Dolls and Accessories that make doll play so much fun. The 14” Mine to Love Dolls are perfect for older siblings to help them connect. The images here feature the Ballerina and Princess which have movable arms and legs, perfect for imaginary play with siblings.

Playing with dolls opens a window of ideas for children to role play life in front of them. Encourage your children to find playful ways to imagine what their dolls are doing. Tea parties, birthday parties, camping, hiking, hospital visit, reading and more! One of our favorites is the Wooden Doll Bed from Melissa & Doug. Siblings can pretend to have sleepovers or a sick patient, also helping them work out some bedtime anxieties too. Keep a box of everyday items close by so that your children can easily role play. Don’t be afraid to go on adventures with your dolls too!
