Comments about Melissa & Doug Upper & Lower Case Alphabet Puzzle:

Love this puzzle. Its nice to have the upper and lower case letters and pictures to go along with it. However, some of the pictures are just strange so I will be inserting some of my own. Other than that we love it.

Comments about Melissa & Doug Upper & Lower Case Alphabet Puzzle:

I bought this for my son who is now 10. I am now looking to buy it again for my 2 year old and my 2 month old when she is old enough. I love this puzzle and it is great for learning for so many reason. 1.Being the bright attractive colors 2.I like the way the placement slots are shaped to the letters and not just squared off -rounded out. this wat they are learning the letter on hand and the they are recognizind the slot it goes in because it to is the same letter. 3. As your child holds the perfect sized letter in their small hand you take their index finger and youtrace the letter and this to is going straight to their brain for letter recognition.4Travels in the car very very well and to all sorts of places you are going to go.JUST SO YOU KNOW I STILL HAVE THE PUZZLE I BOUGHT FOR MY 10 YEAR OLD [...] I HAVE PUT IT UP FOR HIS CHILDREN BECAUSE I Love this puzzle IT IS great. I have seen many like it but have not found one where the placements slots are the same as the letters and I think this is important. When a mother rebuys an item she still has to pass along to another child this item must be top of the line.Thank you for your time Mrs Kirby

Comments about Melissa & Doug Upper & Lower Case Alphabet Puzzle:

My 20-month old son has actually gotten pretty proficient at this puzzle - and pulls it out on his own! He has learned spatial relationship and is making connections between the picture / word with the beginning sound - or the letter name. I want at least one more to replace misplaced letters - the others to send as gifts. I love this puzzle and as a current 3rd grade teacher, am excited about the head start that my son is getting on letter recognition and reading.

Comments about Melissa & Doug Upper & Lower Case Alphabet Puzzle:

This puzzle is easy to handle and it has pictures behind the letters that assist my kids in learning their alphabet. My 3 and 4 year olds work together as a team to put all the pieces in their place, encouraging each other as they play.

        Discover Countless Ways To Play
        • SING IT! Have kids place the uppercase letters on a flat surface as you slowly sing the alphabet song. Once the letters are lined up, sing the song together as you point to the letters. Repeat the activity using the lowercase letters.

        • OUT OF ORDER Starting with the puzzle pieces in alphabetical order, have kids close their eyes while you switch a few of the letters. Have kids figure out what's out of order and fix the alphabet.

        • PATTERN POWER Create a color pattern with three puzzle pieces. Have kids repeat the color pattern with other pieces. Have kids sort the letters into uppercase and lowercase or vowels and consonants. Create a pattern using the groups (for instance: vowel, consonant, consonant ... or, lowercase, uppercase, lowercase ...) and have kids continue the pattern with other pieces.

        • WORD SCRAMBLE Using uppercase letters, jumble together the letters of a familiar word (box, chair, house) and challenge kids to unscramble the letters to spell the word. When they have done so, then have kids find the matching lowercase letters to spell the same word.
