The (new) open-ended toy that kept my 3 year-old busy during our move
I have loved Melissa & Doug toys for over eight years now, and couldn’t have been more excited to get to work with one of my favorite toy brands. Melissa & Doug is a brand I’ve shared consistently since I became a mom. You will see Melissa & Doug featured across my gift guides and toy roundups. We have two of their ice cream counters, and my girls (ages six and eight) still play with them all the time.
Their new collection, Cheery Lane™, is a darling “play-from-above” collection of play sets, vehicles, and figures. The open-top, foldable sets are designed so kids can arrange everything their own way.
My 3-year-old was so excited when a big box of toys arrived just for him. He spent the afternoon lining up every vehicle with a Cheery figure behind the wheel, driving them around, loading and unloading passengers and luggage, and setting up his own version of the House Play Set and Ice Cream and Pizza Play Set.
The whole line is built around open-ended play. The House Play Set has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom that connect and rearrange. The Ice Cream and Pizza Play Set is a combined shop with fold-out rooms and seven tiny pieces, down to a little pizza oven.
The Vehicles Play Set comes with a garbage truck, a family car, and a school bus, all sized for little hands, with wheels that actually spin. And the Cheeries™ Play Figures and individual vehicle sets round it out if you want to add more characters to the mix. We have them all, and he loves every single one. His older sisters had fun playing with these sets, too.
Everything folds up and nests together, which we actually put to the test when we packed it all up and brought it to Grandma’s house for the afternoon during our move. Jack picked up exactly where he left off, rebuilding the whole scene on her living room floor.

If you have a toddler or preschooler, this collection is so much fun. You can now shop the collection at MelissaAndDoug.com, Amazon, Target, and Walmart.

The biggest thank you to Melissa & Doug for sponsoring this post! It is so exciting geting to work with one of my all-time favorite brands.
