• Active duty: You are currently a member of the military. This includes Active duty, National Guard, and Reserves.  
• Military family: Your father, mother, son, or daughter is or was previously in the military. For example, your parent is a retired Navy veteran. You must be an immediate family member of a service member, veteran, or retiree who is over the age of 18. 
• Military spouses: You are married to someone who is or was in the military. This includes spouses of any service member, veteran or retiree as defined in this article. 
• Surviving spouses: You were married to a service member, veteran, or retiree who has passed away. 
• Retirees: You are retired from the military. This includes any former member of the military who is entitled, under statute, to retirement or retainer pay. For example, 20 or more years of cumulative time in service, or being 100% medically retired. 
• Veterans: You have previously served in the military. Former members of the military who were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable, and served less than 20 years cumulative time in service are eligible.
